A: I think that if you're not feeling great, there might be some room to optimize that TSH. I know that for me three is just too high. Especially at times when in my twenties my TSH was around three, three and a half. When I was diagnosed at an age closer to 25 than 35, my TSH was 4.5 and I felt completely awful.
I find that most people, most women of childbearing age, feel best with the TSH between 0.5 and 2, some of them as close to 1. This isn't the rule for everybody, but that's something to consider. And you want the T3 and the T4 within range. Potentially, you might want to increase your dosage just a little bit to see if that helps. Maybe talk to your doctor about that, to see if that helps to get you in a higher range. But again, this is going to depend on your symptoms. If you're feeling fabulous, then those numbers are okay.
