A: It looks like you are getting a different manufacturer of T3 now. Thybon is the manufacturer that is available right now, and Takeda is no longer available. Generally, whenever switching brands of thyroid medications, we might see some alterations in thyroid hormone levels and symptoms. Therefore, I would recommend testing your levels within maybe four to six weeks after switching to that medication.
It's never ideal to switch around a lot, and you're probably going to have to do a little bit of adjusting. Generally, people may need to adjust the dose once or twice after switching to a different manufacturer. Although some people don't need to adjust the dose at all. There's going to be some variability between different brands just because thyroid hormones are dosed in micrograms, which are teeny tiny. This can potentially result in some fluctuation in your levels. That said, once you're on this new brand, it should stabilize after you find your ideal dose.
