A: If it is due to hormonal imbalance– e.g., insulin resistance, excess cortisol– the program can help with this issue by stabilizing blood sugar and cortisol levels, as our diet and supplements are formulated to address these issues.
I’ve also created the Troubleshooting Weight Gain Guide, which is located in the portal under the Handouts tab, where you’ll find a lot of information to help you discover the root cause of your weight gain and strategies that can help you correct it.
The tricky part is that weight loss can often be complicated and there could be multiple drivers. For example, hypothyroidism can cause us to gain weight. So if that's not addressed, we want to make sure that you've optimized thyroid hormones. Then there are things like estrogen dominance. If you have too much estrogen coupled with not enough progesterone, it can contribute to excess weight in the stomach and in the rest of the body. Also, we can have low androgens, like low levels of DHEA, which can contribute to that belly fat and weight gain. Toxins can be a source of weight gain as well. Gut health issues can also cause weight gain.
Besides the Troubleshooting Weight Gain Guide I mentioned, we've also added a new guide that's focused on weight gain with a long list of weight interventions, including medications and supplements. It’s available in the portal under the Handouts tab.
