A: Some people may benefit from taking a DHEA supplement when they have low DHEA and low testosterone. The DHEA supplement will raise their DHEA and testosterone levels. But in some cases, especially if you have estrogen dominance, you might take that DHEA, but rather than creating more DHEA or more testosterone, your body might just be set to make more estrogen. So, this can be very tricky and it’s the reason why I don't necessarily recommend utilizing DHEA and testosterone supplements straight up for most people, at least not in the initial stages. You want to figure out if your body is on a “making a lot of estrogen” setting first.
I hope the Adrenal Transformation Program will help you balance out your hormonal production. A lot of the protocols that we utilize focus on creating more DHEA and testosterone naturally. One of them is myo-inositol. This just brings about some hormonal balance in your body, so hopefully you'll see some benefits with that. It can raise testosterone when it's low and can help balance out some of the estrogen dominance. The Adrenal Support can help with this as well. Also, magnesium, especially Epsom salt baths, tends to increase DHEA levels too.
Then things that can raise your cortisol levels naturally would be stepping out in the sunshine, making sure you have lots of bright light in the morning. Some of the adrenal adaptogens can help as well. So, hopefully you'll see that your hormonal patterns will shift a bit throughout the program. This program is focused on giving your body some tools over the course of four weeks to help you reestablish some healthier patterns and rebalance your hormones.
The other reasons why people might struggle with estrogen dominance could be being in the perimenopause/menopause age. Then you might need some progesterone to help balance it out. Myo-inositol can be supportive for that as well, but if after four weeks you're still not feeling a hundred percent balanced, you may wish to look into some topical progesterone and liver support. Some people over-convert and make too much estrogen because their liver is congested.
