A: One of the reasons for this is if your adrenals are compromised, that's going to compromise your secretory IGA, which is what lines the gut wall and that's what basically keeps the infections in check and prevents them from adhering to the gut wall and helps naturally to clear out infections. Those who have a congested liver and do the gut first have a really hard time with clearing some of the infections, because they are taking supplements to kill the infections but their liver pathways are congested, and they can end up having a lot of side effects from the detox. Also, they can be reinfected because the gut lining isn't working and it's not doing its job properly. So, you work to get rid of these infections, but then you end up getting another one because you don't have a good barrier in place. One of the ways that I've been able to overcome this is utilizing Saccharomyces Boulardii in my gut protocols, so that the gut protocols can be used as a standalone. However, I have found that it works the smoothest when you start off with either the liver or adrenals, before you jump into healing the gut.
