A: Many with Hashimoto’s have low stomach acid. If that is relevant to you, you may want to take something like Betaine with Pepsin, especially with protein-rich meals. This may be a really big needle mover, in my experience, whereas a broad spectrum digestive enzyme might not have enough betaine with pepsin to really help you feel different. Personally, I had taken a whole host of different digestive enzymes without seeing real results until I started taking betaine with pepsin. Specifically, three capsules is what it took for me to feel those results.
Having said that, it really depends on your specific needs and what digestive enzymes you may be deficient in. For example, you might have digestive issues with fiber, and taking veggie enzymes might be helpful for you. While pancreatic enzymes can be helpful for people with fat absorption issues.
