A: B6, or its active form P5P, is the vitamin that improves dream recall. Dream recall is relevant as a symptom, as poor dream recall may indicate a deficiency in vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is critical for serotonin and GABA production, and a deficiency can also manifest as anxiety/irritability after consuming MSG, bone broth, and glutamine. Glycine and B6 are needed to convert glutamate, the neurotransmitter that makes us alert, to GABA, our sleep and chill neurotransmitter. Plus, B6 also has other functions: it may aid in resolving gut issues like constipation and SIBO because it’s a prokinetic. It also helps with the metabolism of oxalates and histamines. So, dream recall is part of a normal sleep pattern, and when it’s lacking it could be due to the deficiency of a very important nutrient such as vitamin B6. That is why it’s important to have dream recall.
The diet in the program is very well balanced. It’s also low in inflammatory foods, so you could just be more alert and less “foggy headed” if that was an issue before. As for supplements, the Adrenal Support does have B6 in it, but it’s a low dose. However, if you are sensitive to it, that could be one possibility.
