A: There are so many different multivitamins out there and some you just take once a day. Then there are other vitamin companies that have done a little bit more research about absorption and which vitamins can conflict with one another in terms of absorption, and they've created different dosing protocols. For example, there is a multivitamin called Nutrience that's taken twice a day and it's in two separate packets.
Pure Encapsulations makes another multivitamin that is dosed with six capsules per day. Other companies have gone as far as determining which supplements, or which nutrients, do better at bedtime, such as magnesium or P5P (B6). Then other supplements and nutrients may be a bit more beneficial in the morning, such as the other B vitamins, just because they tend to be a little bit more energizing.
The best way to determine how to take your multivitamins is to look at what the manufacturer recommends. I would just recommend looking at the package instructions of the supplement that you're taking.
If you're looking for a multivitamin recommendation, I would consider either Nutrience by Calton Nutrition or Pure Encapsulations Nutrient 950. These tend to be some of the multivitamins that can be better absorbed.
