A: It's a big realization, and sometimes it's best to speak to somebody about that or find a program. There are a few online. You can Google “how to heal your relationship with food and your body”, as they typically go hand in hand.
As for mindset, we have a guide in the portal that may be helpful. It’s the Tips for Staying the Course Guide, located under the Handouts tab. There are mindset tips that can help us commit to our healing journey and stay committed. For example, “Remember Your Why”: why did you embark on a specific program, protocol, diet, workout routine, etc? The reasons behind our goals may need to be remembered along the way to keep us motivated and committed. Also important is the “Respect Yourself” tip. If you find that you tend to have a “throw in the towel” mindset and feel inclined to give up, really focus on what can get you through, like small rewards or affirmations. Also, remind yourself that we all make mistakes, but we also have the ability to move on. It just may take some extra time to get those healing benefits at their maximum potential to show up in your life. It’s important to remember that this program and your healing journey are a marathon, not a sprint. Healing takes time, self-care, self-love, and commitment. You are encouraged to do the very best you can with each new day.
However, if you are looking to get some extra support, there are professionals out there who provide deeper insight with their courses. There are courses regarding relationships with food, with self, deeper trauma, just to name a few.
