Q: My doctor did the adrenal testing from ZRT Labs in January. I'm wondering if I should do the test again to get clearer results. How often do you suggest doing the Adrenal Saliva test?
A: I would do it every 3-6 months. The way you classify adrenal dysfunction is by looking at the total cortisol. When your total cortisol is too high, that means you have Stage 1, or you have too much cortisol. Stage 2 is when your total cortisol is normal but some of your readings may be off and your DHEA may be low. Stage 3 is when your total cortisol is low. ZRT doesn’t actually add up the cortisol for you. So, you have to do your own math with ZRT.
