Q: I was looking into taking one of the food sensitivity tests but I noticed that it said that you have to have been exposed to the foods on the tests within a certain timeframe for them to show up as a sensitivity. Is this correct?
A: If you are planning on a food sensitivity test, it’s best to give the testing company a call and see what they recommend, as all are different. With the Alletess test that I recommend, I've seen results where people haven't eaten foods on the test, but still come back sensitive to them. In our direct communications with Alletess lab, they have also clarified that this depends on the person's immune system, and some people will test positive for foods they have not been eating.
