Q: Could phosphatidylserine, vitamin C, magnesium, and fish oil supplements be confounding factors in my adrenal lab results? I have a reversed sleep/wake cycle due to my work schedule.
A: The phosphatidylserine can reduce your cortisol. That could potentially be the confounding variable. I generally don’t recommend it to people unless they have high levels of cortisol. I’m not sure how much the magnesium and fish oil are going to be contributing to the cortisol levels. The other thing I wanted to mention is that when you have a work schedule like this, it actually can produce a lot of stress and inflammation in your body. Humans didn’t evolve to be nocturnal creatures, and shift work has been associated with a lot of diseases, unfortunately.
