A: The continuous glucose monitor can be so helpful in figuring out how your body responds to food. Generally, what I recommend for people starting off with transitioning and trying to get their blood sugar balanced, is to eat small meals frequently throughout the day. Make sure to combine protein and fat and a little bit of carbohydrates; then see how you do. That will give you some time to reset the body.
The other adrenal support strategies that you're going to be utilizing throughout this program will also be supportive and helpful all around. As you go through this program, you'll see that you’re going to get a little bit more metabolic flexibility. It's going to take your body a little time to start adjusting and be able to utilize all sorts of fuels.
Week five is when we have everybody do a very similar protocol where we eat a blood-sugar balancing diet for a few weeks and give the body some time to adjust.
Then we're going to dive into some troubleshooting areas in week five. By week five, about 80% of people see resolution with the protocols that we use in this program. Also, in week five I have some advanced protocols.
There might be some nutrients that you need to explore and that you might be deficient in, such as chromium, that might help with blood sugar balance. The program includes supplements in the first initial weeks, and they're going to be focused on carnitine, which helps transport fatty acid into your body. That's going to be helpful with blood sugar balance as well. You're also going to utilize myo-inositol, which will help with blood sugar balance as well. It'll be interesting to see what happens when you start utilizing the supplements along with eating small, frequent meals throughout the day, and to see how your monitor will respond.
Please keep me updated on how things are going. I'm excited to have you here. This program was designed to help you balance blood sugar.
One more thing that I wanted to mention - As you go through the program, I expect that you’ll be experiencing a lot of improvement. If you don't see excellent results by week five, I also have a lot of troubleshooting material. Some people might not do as well with various energy fuels. There might be a reason, like you can't extract protein correctly, or you can't extract fat correctly because of some digestive enzyme deficiencies, where carbohydrates are sort of an easy source of fuel, and that's what your body's accustomed to.
