A: This particular program is very focused on making your body stronger and more resilient. We use S. Boulardii to help with overcoming gut infections naturally and very gently. We also use high-dose vitamin C, which can help with overcoming the Epstein Barr virus. These are typically stress-induced infections, and just building up resilience can be very helpful.
In people with Hashimoto's, on the GI-MAP test and other gut tests, one in three people have some kind of protozoan parasite that could be driving Hashimoto's and digestive symptoms. Some people might have H. pylori, and that's a bacterial pathogen that can be also found on the GI-MAP test. So, for pathogens and toxins there are a few functional tests that can be helpful to detect them, such as the GI-MAP for gut infections such as H. pylori and Blastocystis hominis. I also recommend the Organic Acids Test, as it can be really helpful to detect mold/yeast and Candida. There’s also the MycoTOX test and the TotalTOX Burden that I might use, or a hair test to look at additional heavy metals and toxins to see if that might be relevant. I have a portal with Rupa Health
where you can find these tests.
We go deep into these infections in the Gut Recovery Program, which can be an ideal next step for many after detoxing the liver and supporting the adrenals. I do recommend healing the gut after supporting the liver and the adrenals. It's a 15-week deep dive that will teach you how to nourish and heal your gut through 7 targeted steps that include eradicating gut infections and overgrowths caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, yeast/mold (e.g., H. pylori, Blasto, Candida, SIBO...). This program focuses on total gut restoration, going well beyond the standard recommendations of “take probiotics and drink bone broth.” I created the Gut Recovery Program to bring healing to those who have tried it all and are still looking for answers. During the program you can also self-order tests and then then have some feedback on them.
Nobody said reversing autoimmunity was easy, but I try to break it down into small parts that are easier to digest than just trying to do it all at once.
