A: Typically, in the program we have had a lot of people with various autoimmune conditions. We haven't had many flare-ups with an autoimmune condition. However, generally, because we're not sure of your individual health history, we're not sure if it could be a random flare-up or something within the program that you could be doing that could be contributing to your flare-up. So, just as a safety precaution, generally if you're in the program and you're experiencing any kind of autoimmune flare-up, we do recommend checking in with your physician.
For a person with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), some of the things that could be potentially causing a flare-up might include more fibrous and raw foods, more difficult to digest foods could cause a flare-up. Anything that shifts the microbiome could be cause for a flare-up; any kind of recent viral illness, or immune challenge, or sleep deprivation could also cause a flare-up.
Some people might have issues with too much fat in their diet, or just dietary changes because they're shifting their microbiome so quickly. So, the best advice would be to focus on really healing your UC, and then reintroducing one thing at a time, trying to identify your triggers.
Typically, programs like ATP and Root Cause Reset are really great for people that are medically stable and not in a current flare-up. So, if you are experiencing a flare-up, we want to make sure that you really focus on that and on loving yourself back to a really healthy and stable place, before you attempt to do anything like a liver detox.
