A: The diet is meant to be weight neutral. It's not designed to help you lose weight or
gain weight. In general, people who are overweight when they detox properly, they get to more of a healthy weight, especially if they have toxicity in their bodies. While generally, people who are underweight, when they get rid of toxicity in their bodies, they'll tend to gain more weight.
The same thing goes on with the adrenals. When some people have very low levels of cortisol, it'll cause them to be underweight, while for some people it'll cause them to be overweight. So, actually one of the few things I recommend for people that are underweight is making sure that they are supporting their adrenals and their gut. We're doing that with Saccharomyces boulardii. You may also want to look into gut testing. Sometimes different gut infections and parasites can cause malabsorption. Food sensitivity can also cause malabsorption. Those are potential common reasons for not gaining enough weight and for losing weight.
I have an article about losing too much weight with Hashimoto's with some strategies, such as real food smoothies, which is one of my favorite ones, and that's like a high calorie building smoothie made with really delicious real food.
