A: If you are concerned about electrolyte imbalance, we are taking Electrolyte Blend by Rootcology during the program, which can definitely help. You can also opt for one of the Keto versions of the Adrenal Kickstart on page 5 of the same Recipes guide, which is prepared with the electrolyte blend. Please keep in mind that this would satisfy your Electrolyte Blend dose for the day. If you are using this as your Adrenal Kickstart drink, do not consume the additional Electrolyte Blend indicated in the Supplement Guide.
As for magnesium, we will be taking Magnesium Citrate during the program, so that will also help you balance magnesium.
So, we do focus on electrolytes and magnesium throughout the program. When people get into ketosis they can become depleted in electrolytes and magnesium, and that can be responsible for some of the symptoms they experience. Hopefully, going through the program you'll see some improvements. If you are doing well with the carnivore keto diet, that's great for you. Eventually, you may want to start adding in more vegetables to see if you can tolerate a larger variety. Possibly, that can happen towards the end of the program. I find that often when people have numerous food sensitivities with Hashimoto's, it's due to certain protozoal infections. One of the things that causes us to have these infections is our stress, which can lower our Secretory IgA, which is the immune response in our gut. This also contributes to various food sensitivities. Going through the program is going to help with that. We are taking Saccharomyces boulardii, which can be very helpful for raising Secretory IgA, reducing some of the food sensitivities, and helping to get rid of some of those infections that may be impairing the gut barrier leading to food sensitivities.
Some other things that I have found helpful for food sensitivities include systemic enzymes, which are taken on an empty stomach. They can reduce those circulating immune complexes that lead us to have Hashimoto's antibodies and food sensitivities in Hashimoto's. about that. Digestive enzymes may also help. You may want to read my article on enzymes.
As you keep supporting your stress response, you'll notice that your digestion will also improve naturally. Otherwise, in week five we’ll have advanced symptom solutions. If by then you're still having issues with food sensitivities, adding some digestive enzymes might be helpful.
