A: Trudy Scott is very knowledgeable, and I love her. Some of the amino acids or combinations of amino acids can increase anxiety. This is common in people with thyroid issues and vitamin B6 deficiency. The ones that can have this type of effect for some people are L-glutamine, glycinate products– such as magnesium glycinate, and L-tyrosine.
L-glutamine is great for people with blood sugar issues, but if you have a vitamin B6 deficiency, I recommend taking P5P, the active form of B6. A lot of people with reactions to various foods– histamines, oxalates, glutamine, glutamate, and bone broth– can be deficient in B6. I like to recommend the Rootcology P5P version.
