A: When you’re avoiding certain foods, particularly foods like wheat and dairy that are so prevalent in our culture, the best strategy is to cook most of your meals at home, at least until you’ve mastered your diet and know where you can order specially prepared meals with safe ingredients in your area.
If you’re heading to a gathering at someone else’s home or if you’re planning a vacation where you will be traveling and eating out, you may want to eat beforehand or pack some program-compliant meal(s) that you've prepared at home.
It can sometimes be difficult to order special meals at restaurants, but looking for an option that focuses on animal protein (high-quality preferred, if possible) and veggies, would be a good place to start! Having a conversation with the restaurant staff may help to ensure your meal is free of the trigger foods we're avoiding during this program.
