Year 1

These are our class books helping us to develop our knowledge of the wider curriculum:

Every day, Mr Grinling the lighthouse keeper cleans and polishes his light to make sure it shines brightly at night. At lunchtime he tucks into a delicious and well-deserved lunch, prepared by his wife. But Mr Grinling isn't the only one who enjoys the tasty food.

Vlad, the flea, invites us to join him and explore the history of the Great Fire of London. Watch the trailer narrated by the author:

This is the story of how a tiny seed travels from its parent plant and blows across seas, deserts and mountains, braving many hazards along the way, before finally finding a place to settle and grow into a beautiful flower so that the story can start again.

Rocket is crazy about science and a right old chatterbox!  She wants all the local community to watch the meteor shower and celebrate in the amazing wonder of the night sky.

This story is used to support the children's learning about Explorers (including space exploration).

On a hot, sunny day, a painting of some bathers in a cool river proves too tempting for Katie, and so she dives straight into the picture! But Katie doesn't just cause a splash - she causes a flood! Paddling with new friends might be fun, but how will Katie stop the water pouring into the gallery?

Join Katie on her adventures to explore some of the famous artists in history.

A collection of familiar and new poems that the children explore and perform for an audience.
