Nursery and Reception

Developing positive reading experiences begins right from Nursery, with the Early Years classes having a daily big book shared read.  They learn the mechanics of how reading works,  develop knowledge of sight words and explore characters, settings and events and begin to develop the skills of retrieval and inference through the probing questions asked by the teacher.
