New pupils to The Kingston Academy will be offered an Asus Chromebook.
The Scheme will provide an Asus C202. The total cost for this device and all the extras will be £280. This should be paid before your child starts at TKA and can be paid either as a single sum or instalments.
Pupils are expected to take reasonable care of their device and to use the case provided. One repair per device not covered by the warranty or for accidental damage (such as a cracked screen) is included during the 3 year period of the Scheme. Loss, or damage as a result of malicious acts are not covered and devices beyond repair due to pupil carelessness will not be replaced.
All repairs included in the Scheme (and those under warranty) are completed via an on-site maintenance service, to minimise the time children are without a Chromebook. Our IT Support Team will be available 5 days a week and we expect that the majority of repairs will be completed within 24 hours.
All devices are configured to be fully managed by us, for your child’s safety and security, so we are unable to support alternative self-sourced devices.
Payment is via ParentPay and we ask that all parents/carers activate their ParentPay accounts as soon as possible and make a payment by Friday 15 June. You will receive details of how to activate your ParentPay account within the next few days. We encourage all parents/carers who are able to pay the full £280 on that date to please do so and all others to pay a first instalment of £80. Subsequent payments should then be made by Saturday 15 July (£75 ), by Wednesday 15 August (£75) and by Friday 7 September (£50).
Please contact Lesley Thomas in our finance team if you are unable to meet these payments within the timescales indicated ( lthomas@thekingstonacademy.org or telephone 020 8465 6200). Families in receipt of free school meals will be offered a substantial discount.
Details of the arrangements for Year 10 pupils will be posted here.
