This information is for Summer 2026
We are offering parents and carers of pupils in Years 9 and 10 the opportunity to purchase a new Chromebook for your child ready for the start of September 2026. This is entirely optional.
The purpose is to enable pupils to have a refresh of their device and also to upgrade to a newer model of Chromebook. We have found that many pupils' devices show signs of wear and tear by the time they enter Year 10, and we would like to provide the opportunity to have a new device. This is entirely optional; pupils are welcome to continue to use their existing device.
The Chromebook we are offering as an upgrade is the Asus CZ11 Flip. Further details can be found on its page. Pupils who have an existing device are already part of our Chromebook scheme, so therefore you need only pay for the replacement device. This cost is expected to be around £240 and is cheaper than the initial purchase because it does not include software licences and the other additional elements of the scheme that you have already paid for. You can sign up using the online form. If you would like to discuss a payment plan, please contact our finance team.
Complete the online form to sign up for the device refresh. The form closes at 5pm on Monday 29 June 2026.
Check your ParentPay account for the new Chromebook's payment item to have been added, after 29 June. You can also confirm the final price at this stage.
If you wish to proceed, make payment in ParentPay before the start of the new term in September 2026.
Your child can collect their new device from Digital Services at the start of the new term.
All other aspects of the Chromebook scheme continue as normal. This includes the condition that the device is managed by us and that GoGuardian software is running on the device. The new devices will have a fresh manufacturer's warranty.
Provided that you have paid in full for the old device, you own it. There are three options:
You can keep the Chromebook and we will remove our device management and software.
You can keep the Chromebook but keep the device management so it can be used at school by a sibling or as a backup. Note that devices without management cannot be used at school by pupils in years 7 to 11.
You can return the Chromebook to TKA to be used for parts or as part of our loan pool or recycled.
It will help us if you indicate your preference in the online sign up form so that we can plan for the number of devices that we are likely to receive.
