JESSICA BINKLEY, LOWER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL | MARCH UPDATE
Dear HCLA Parents and Families,
We kicked off our Spring Break with another amazing Field Day. Thank you all so much for volunteering your time. It was great to see so many of our parents out there playing games with our students and helping at the different stations. A HUGE shout out to our very own Coach Jones who makes this such a special and fun time for all. He does an incredible job organizing and executing this annual event and enlists the help of our SGA high school students and parents.
Looking ahead, we have a friend and faith-based children's author, Kirsten Telan, visiting on Wednesday, April 8th at chapel. She was recently awarded the Christlit book award for her book A Tale of Two Dogs. All students will get to hear her story and see Mochi and Murphy in person. In addition, our 4th and 5th grade students will have the opportunity to learn and discuss the writing process with Mrs. Telan.
It is such an exciting time of year when we see lots of growth in our students and celebrate how much they have learned. Looking forward to finishing the year strong.
In His Service,
Jessica Binkley
DR. LUNARDI, UPPER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL | FEBRUARY UPDATE
Dear HCLA Parents and Families,
Here we are… 4th quarter! The time when there seems to be a game, show, banquet, concert, fundraiser, field trip, exam or deadline just about every day, and that isn’t too far from the truth! It can be stressful and wonderful at the same time, and we are definitely in the middle of it at Upper Campus. It will be a sprint to the finish, inevitably with some bumps and bruises to go along with the cheers and happy tears, but we are so excited to be sprinting alongside our students and families.
To paraphrase James 14, our time here together this school year is a “wisp or a vapor that will quickly go by”. Borrowing from a country song, “We’re going to miss this, we’re going to want this back, we’re going to wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast”. One of my own children is graduating this year, so this verse and these lyrics are hitting me especially hard this season. So whether you’re a senior parent who is hoping time slows down or a parent who wants it to be next year right now, be sure to thank the Lord for the trials and the blessings - we can and should grow and be grateful for them all (James 1, Romans 5, 1 Peter 1).
Thank you all so much for your ongoing love and support of our students, staff, and school - we love you so much!
Thank you,
Chris Lunardi

MESSAGE FROM BLAKE WRIGHT, DIRECTOR OF SPIRITUAL LIFE
As March quickly approaches, I wanted to share an exciting new opportunity for the moms in our HCLA community. Starting Monday, March 23 (the Monday after spring break), we’ll be launching a group called Moms in Prayer.
Moms in Prayer is a Christian prayer ministry that gathers mothers to pray for children and schools around the world. Brooke Austin, one of our HCLA moms, will be leading this group weekly to help ensure our schools are being covered in prayer. This is a wonderful chance for moms to grow in faith while also building community and fellowship with one another.
If you’d like to learn more about Moms in Prayer, you can visit their website here. Details are below:
Who: HCLA moms
What: Moms in Prayer

Dear HCLA families,
It is hard to believe we are quickly approaching the final quarter of the school year—it has truly been a wonderful season of growth, achievement, and joyful moments across every grade level! Time flies when you are joyfully serving students, sharing Christ's love and doing meaningful work together in our school community!
At Holy Cross Lutheran Academy, we are continually grateful for the faith, partnership, and generosity of our families. As we approach our annual fundraiser, I want to thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration and support. As the final touches are prepared for our special event, our hearts soar with abundant gratefulness! Proceeds from our annual fundraiser, this year’s Sip & Bid, will go toward the addition of a covered walkway at our lower campus and an official scoreboard and field lighting at our upper campus.
Your generosity directly enriches our School Growth Plan—strengthening academic excellence, expanding programs, enhancing campus resources, and deepening the Christ-centered mission that guides all we do. Because of you, we are able to invest not only in facilities and programs, but in the spiritual and academic formation of every child entrusted to our care.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for walking alongside us as we continue to grow and serve. Together, we are building something lasting for our students and for God’s glory.
With great gratitude,
Cindy Moon
Executive Director- Holy Cross Lutheran Academy
