Lower School Music

Hello there, music enthusiasts! I'm Ms. Outhier (pronounced OO-tee-ay), and I'm absolutely thrilled to be sharing my passion for music with you.

At Temecula Preparatory School, all students TK through 6th grade will have music as part of their weekly schedule. Together, we'll discover the elements of rhythm, melody, form, texture, and harmony. The engaging curriculum will include musical games and activities, singing, body percussion, and music reading with classroom instruments such as recorders, xylophones, ukuleles, keyboards and more! Students will develop both listening and performance skills through classroom sharing and quarterly assemblies. Explore the grade-level drop down menu for more details!

About Ms. Outhier

With over two decades of experience teaching young musicians, I've had the incredible opportunity to guide and inspire budding artists on their musical adventures.

My love for music began early, with singing and piano. When I picked up the flute at age 8, however, the bond was immediate and unbreakable. I eventually earned a Master's degree in Music, majoring in flute performance. Since then, I've been performing, collaborating, and teaching! From helping beginners understand the basics of reading music to preparing advanced students for competitions and auditions, every moment of teaching has been a joy.

I'm so excited to bring my musical experience to the classroom! I believe in creating a warm and engaging learning environment where students can explore their musical abilities, develop their creativity, and gain a deep appreciation for the art of music.

Let's embark on this musical journey and make some beautiful music together!
