In fourth grade, students will be reading music with recorders, bells, and boomwhackers. Students will explore through singing,rhythm games, listening, and sharing talents. Students will share what they've learned in their quarterly assemblies!
RHYTHM Review previous concepts of rhythm and meter, introduce 6/8 meter, syncopated rhythms, and dotted quarter-eighth combinations
MELODY Review all previous concepts, intro to La-based minor, Fa and Ti.
FORM Review forms, popular song forms (verse/refrain/bridge)
TEXTURE & HARMONY Three and four part rounds and canons, I-IV-V bassline, arpeggiated accompaniment
INSTRUMENTS Reading music with recorders, bells, and boomwhackers
OTHER Treble clef, treble clef note names, metric counting
