What are the Online Learning Requirements to Graduate? (Sept. 1)

Online learning graduation requirement

Beginning with students that entered Grade 9 in the 2020-21 school year, students must earn at least two online learning credits to get their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Credits earned during COVID-19

Students can count one secondary school credit that was earned during the province wide school closures (from April 2021 to June 2021) towards the two online learning credits that they need to graduate. This applies to all Grade 9 students who were learning remotely due to the province wide school closures.

Note that "Remote" learning credits such as those taken through the Continuing Education Summer School program DO NOT count as an online learning credit. Credits earned through the eLearning Summer School program do count towards this requirement.

Families may choose to opt out of this requirement. To do so please go to our Course Selection page.

For more information, visit the Government of Ontario’s High School Graduation Requirements site.

How do I make sure I don't lose the files in my google drive?

Sometime over the summer you will likely lose your TDSB student email address and also lose access to your TDSB Google Drive. In order to prevent the loss of important files you should transfer the data in your Google Drive to somewhere safe. We cannot help you recover files if you fail to do this!! Instructions can be found at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H6BnpAz3hsNVSMrSHLdBlQBSsMPr3emh1iMG3QzO2aM/edit#heading=h.3qiy7gljv6v5

What are my responsibilities if I am taking credits outside of the TDSB?

Inform your counsellor of ANY credits that you are enrolled in outside of the TDSB. This includes the TCDSB, other school boards, and private schools.

Final reports must be sent to York Mills directly by your school prior to June 15 to be considered for our commencement ceremonies and final mark transmission to colleges and universities in early July. You may provide your school with your counsellor's email address to facilitate this. We will also accept a report card in an envelope signed and sealed by your school.

I did not get accepted into a program of my choice. Where can I find programs that still have open spots? (To be updated)

To be posted when available.
