Senior Arts has students spray painting walls, reviving the halls, spearheading ARTivism campaigns and throwing STEAM-based events in the community. Students will use the creative process to explore a wide range of SOCIAL JUSTICE themes through studio sessions that include drawing, painting, sculpting, as well as the creation of collage, mixed media and our new PRINT MAKING projects.
Students applying to college and university for arts and design-based programmes will assemble OUTSTANDING portfolios as well as fine-tune their resume, covering letter, interview skills along with any necessary statements of intent and other application documents that need to be prepared.
The grade 11 | 12 visual arts course consists of studio practice, research projects, group critiques, artist
workshops and plenty of field trips in order for students will develop an understanding of a variety of concepts in art the arts community.
The senior visual arts program focuses on the development of critical thinking skills, analytical tools, and increased awareness of self and how one relates to the world. Pop-culture and art history
lessons will be woven into the curriculum as well as a focus on current and contemporary artists.
