Dramatic Arts 11

ADA3M Dramatic Arts, Grade 11, (University/College)

This course requires students to create and perform dramatic presentations that deal with a variety of issues from the past and present. Students will analyze, interpret, and perform works of drama from various cultures, including Western plays from around 1900. Students will also do research on different acting styles and conventions for their presentations, create original works, and analyze the functions of playwright, director, actor, technician, and audience. Students will focus their work on the various aspects of performance and presentation of dramatic material. This course also explores Theatre for Young Audiences and culminates with a performance for feeder schools that present social issues in a mature and educational way.
