Dramatic Arts

The CTA Drama Department gives students many different opportunity to practice and hone their performance skills while learning how essential collaboration and cooperation is to any creative endeavour.

Guest Artists are regularly invited to share their talents and conduct workshops that have taught Stage Combat, Improv, Stage Make-up technique, Spoken-Word, Mime, Commedia Del'Arte and Shakespeare.

Each course includes at least one excursion opportunity. Students have enjoyed productions at Stratford, Young People's Theatre, the Tarragon, Factory Theatre and Hart House.

Drama students participate in many school assemblies. Class projects have included scenes highlighting CTA's Code of Conduct; Halloween Zombie Apocalypses and Haunted Basements; Lunchtime Theatre, Theatre for Young Audience performances for feeder schools and big productions of Hairspray, Elf and High School Musical!
