Hotel Positions - Hotel Management
Why the Hotel Business Co-op Was Created
These specialized positions were designed to bridge the gap between classroom business theory and real-world corporate operations. Because hotels operate as massive global businesses, this program gives students a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how they run.
The program was created to provide:
Real-World Application: Students apply accounting, marketing, HR, and operations concepts directly in a professional corporate environment.
Career Exploration: Students discover diverse, high-level career paths in hospitality through direct experience and departmental rotations.
Mentorship & Networking: Students develop essential professional skills while connecting with industry leaders for future career opportunities.
Company-level prerequisite:
Completion of two business courses prior to the start is required for the HR Assistant position.
Completion of Grade 11 Accounting and at least one other business course prior to the start are required for the Financial Accounting Co-op Analyst (AM Co-op) position.
Important Notes:
Each hotel offers different positions. Please note that Hyatt, Yorkville, and Hilton do not provide rotation plans.
If you are applying to the Marriott, you will follow a rotation plan, spending 5 weeks each in the following departments:
Accounting (5 weeks)
Human Resources (5 weeks)
Sales & Marketing (5 weeks)
