What is an Extension ?

Extensions add features and enhance the functionality of a website.

What is an Add-on?

Add-ons are made by third-party companies that add additional functionality to a Google Doc, Form, Sheet or Slides that Google has not built into the core app. The purpose of an add-on is similar to that of a browser extension—to gain additional features.

How to Get a Hold of Extensions and Add-ons

To add extensions (and themes) to your Chrome browser, visit the Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions

Add-ons are Google Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Slides

To find an add-on for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides:

From the menu bar on the core app, go to Add-ons, choose Get add-ons.

To uninstall the add-on or report an issue to Manage add-ons.
