Specific Requirements 

1. An Enriched Visual Arts student should demonstrate basic artistic skills in drawing, artistic potential and a willingness to learn. 

2. An Enriched Visual Arts student must have an appreciation of Visual Arts as a means of personal and artistic development. 

Audition Requirements 

Part 1 - Workshop Sign Up

1. Register for an in-person workshop being held on NOVEMBER 13, 2025 at St. Patrick CSS (4:00 PM - 5:00PM)   or   (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM) 

2. Use the Google Form HERE (coming soon) to register. 

3. Workshop Registration due: NOVEMBER 6, 2024 

Part 2 - Portfolio 

Please submit 4 original artworks consisting of:

1. A Self-Portrait Pencil Drawing demonstrating shading techniques.

2. A Still Life Object (i.e. toy, flowers, furniture etc.…) drawn or painted using coloured pencils, pastels, watercolour or acrylic paint.

3. Personal Choice – an original artwork using any media of your choice.

4. CREATIVE Challenge – copy the “scribble” line patterns in the squares below onto a piece of paper. Using your imagination, “doodle” and turn the scribbles into something new (i.e. an animal, a cartoon character, building).  Let your imagination lead you.  

Part 3 - Submit Your Portfolio 

1. All artwork must be submitted digitally (Please DO NOT send original artworks to us).

2. Photograph your portfolio artwork.  Save the files as either jpg, png, or pdf file formats.

3. Label each digital artwork file as follows:   01 LastName FirstName, Title of Work 

4. Upload your artwork to a Google Form HERE.

5. Portfolio due: NOVEMBER 13, 2024

6. You will receive an email confirming the receipt of your portfolio.

Part 4 - In-person Workshop 

1. Workshops will take place on NOVEMBER 13, 2024 - please check your confirmed workshop time 

2. Students are not required to bring any materials with them (all materials provided).

3. The workshop will consist of short drawing exercises followed by a short written reflection.  

4. The workshop is designed to meet the student and to learn more about their creative potential.    

Day of Workshop

1. When arriving for the workshop, please enter the St. Patrick school building through the front doors (north side of the building, off Felstead Ave).

2. Please arrive in advance of your scheduled audition to sign in. 

3. Student helpers will be on hand for registration and to direct you to a designated waiting area.

Review of Application Process:

1. Complete SOAR on-line application: SEPTEMBER 26 – OCTOBER 31, 2025

2. BOOK your in-person audition time by NOVEMBER 6, 2025 

3. AUDITIONS will be held on NOVEMBER 13, 2025 at St. Patrick CSS. 

4. OFFERS: Successful candidates will be notified by email NOVEMBER 27, 2025

5. ACCEPTANCE:  Parents accept/decline offers by DECEMBER 2, 2025
