The Enriched Instrumental Music Program and the Enriched Guitar Program are designed for students who demonstrate both talent and passion for music. In this four year program, focus is placed on enhanced curricular and extra-curricular opportunities in the development of technique, composition and performance. Students learn from advanced theoretical and performance training, a focused learning environment, special guest artists, extra-curricular performance-based excursions and additional school-wide performance opportunities.
The St. Patrick music ensembles are well known throughout the GTA for their award-
winning performances at well established music festivals and competitions including: the Toronto TD
Jazz Festival, The Kiwanis Music Festival and the TCDSB Music Festival.
Please Note:
Grade 8 students can apply for our Enriched Arts programs directly from grade 8 or after completing the Grade 9 Instrumental Music / Grade 9 Guitar program.
The application process consists of a grade 8 teacher referral, and an in-person audition.
Successful candidates are selected not only on their audition but on their artistic potential and willingness to learn.
At the end of four years, students who successfully complete the Enriched Arts program will be prepared for a variety of post-secondary destinations and will receive an Arts Certificate.
