St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School offers an Enriched Arts Program in Instrumental Music and Guitar.
Grade 8 students are invited to apply.
These programs are designed for students who demonstrate both talent and passion for music.
This four year program is designed to guide young people on their journey toward self-expression, ingenuity, and academic inquiry while providing them with both a sense of pride and belonging in an artistic community of learners.
Focus is placed on enhanced curricular and extra-curricular opportunities in the development of technique, composition and performance. Students learn from advanced theoretical and performance training, a focused learning environment, special guest artists, extra-curricular performance-based excursions and additional school-wide performance opportunities.
Note:
Grade 8 students can apply for our Enriched Arts programs directly from grade 8 or after completing the Grade 9 Instrumental Music / Grade 9 Guitar program.
The application process consists of an in-person audition (See Audition Criteria).
Successful candidates are selected not only on their audition but on their artistic potential and willingness to learn.
At the end of four years, students who successfully complete the Enriched Music program will be prepared for a variety of post-secondary destinations and will receive a Specialty Arts Certificate.
The St. Patrick music ensembles are well known throughout the GTA for their award-winning performances at well established music festivals and competitions including: the Toronto TD Jazz Festival, The Kiwanis Music Festival and the TCDSB Music Festival.
