Specific Requirements 

1.  An Enriched Instrumental Music student should demonstrate some proficiency playing one instrument.

2.  An Enriched Instrumental Music student should be comfortable performing in front of an audience and must have an appreciation of music as a means of personal and artistic development. 

Audition Requirements 

Part 1 - Audition Sign Up

1.  Register for an in-person audition on NOVEMBER 13, 2025 at St. Patrick CSS

2.  Auditions will be held between 3:20 PM - 7:00 PM and will take approximately 10 minutes. 

3.  Use the Google Form HERE (coming soon) to register for an audition time. 

4.  Audition registration due: NOVEMBER 6, 2025 

Part 2 - In-person Audition 

Candidates will: 

1. 1. 1. Bring their own instrument to use at the audition (Large instruments can be provided)

      2. Perform one performance piece of their choice (minimum 30 seconds long)

      3. Perform one scale of their choice

      4. Be asked to take part in instructor led basic rhythmic exercises 

Part 3 - Interview 

1. Students will take part in a short interview led by the Instrumental Music teacher.

2. The goal of the interview is to learn more about the student (Example questions: Are you involved in any extracurricular groups or sports? When and how did you become interested in playing a musical instrument?). 

Day of Audition

1. When arriving for the audition, please enter the St. Patrick school building through the front doors (north side of the building, off Felstead Ave).

2. Please arrive in advance of your scheduled audition to sign in. 

3. Student helpers will be on hand for registration and to direct you to a designated waiting area.    

Review of Application Process:

1. Complete SOAR on-line application: SEPTEMBER 26 – OCTOBER 31, 2025

2. BOOK your in-person audition time by NOVEMBER 6, 2025 

3. AUDITIONS will be held on NOVEMBER 13, 2025 at St. Patrick CSS. 

4. OFFERS: Successful candidates will be notified by email NOVEMBER 27, 2025

5. ACCEPTANCE:  Parents accept/decline offers by DECEMBER 2, 2025
