Here are some questions you can ask your child about the story:
Where did Millicent live? (She lived on a mountaintop.)
Why didn't Millicent have any friends? (because the other children lived very far away.)
What did Millicent and the wind to together? (They played tag together.)
Why did the wind blow the boy with red hair up into the sky? (because he was being mean to Millicent.)
What did the wind bring for Millicent at the end of the story? (The wind brought a friend for Millicent.)
How do you think Millicent felt at the end of the story? (She probably felt happy because she finally had a friend to play with.)
Wind is air that moves. Sometimes wind is gentle. We call this a "breeze". Sometimes wind is quick and strong. We call this a "gust". Sometimes, strong winds rotate or spin in a circle. When this happens we call it a "tornado". You can see what this looks like by making a tornado in a bottle with water. Watch the videos below for some cool ways to create a tornado in a bottle.
