Use sidewalk chalk to draw all the letters of the alphabet spacing them out in a slightly random style so that the path from A-Z is not obvious. This way your child will have to locate each letter as they sing and hop to the alphabet song. The second time your child hops the path, have him/her say each sound (not the letter name).

After listening the story, ask your child the following questions.
Who is the main character in the story? (the spider)
Where did this story happen? (near a farm)
When did the spider begin to spin her web? (early one morning)
Why didn't the spider answer the farm animals when they talked to her? (she was very busy spinning her web)
What did the spider catch in her web? (a fly)
How did the spider feel at the end of the story? (tired because she had worked very hard to build her web; happy and full because she got to eat the fly)
