TAMU Math Circle Rules of Conduct and Discipline
At Math Circle, we are committed to providing an enriching experience for all our participants throughout the year. To ensure that all our sessions run smoothly and productively, we expect all participants to follow our rules and expectations.
While debate, discussion and collaboration are encouraged, all participants are expected to show respect towards the presenters and facilitators, towards their peers, towards the facilities, and towards the learning environment.
To avoid distractions and maintain focus on the activity, all electronic devices should be put away during the sessions.
Running in the hallways, throwing objects in the classrooms or other disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
If polite reminders are insufficient to correct a wayward participant's behavior, we will require the participant's parent or guardian to attend the following sessions to keep their ward's behavior in check. In cases of repeated misconduct, we may be forced to dismiss a participant from our sessions.
Our facilitators and instructions are there to help participants with math and not to police their behavior. To this effect, we will require a parent or guardian to accompany any student younger than 10 years old to each session that they attend.
