The overall curriculum aligns well with the unofficial standard set by the a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) exam; however, the initial units, including the unit Dimensioning Practices, Scales, Tolerancing and Fasteners, are very basic and could be expanded to match the rigor of the CSWA exam.  The main focus of the curriculum seems to be communicating the skills needed to create an effective engineering drawing and lack breadth to include other skills such as the 21st Century Skills found in Kaufman's article.
