I have served as an educational counselor for over two decades. Prior to working as a school counselor for the Sweetwater Union High School District, I worked for the San Diego Unified School District. I also served on the Executive Board for the California Association for Play Therapy and worked as a clinician in private practice specializing in Play Therapy.

I am  also a published author and a Certified  Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner. I am the proud mother of three young adults and one grandson. I enjoy listening to live  jazz music,  writing, reading, visiting coffee houses, working out, taking walks on the beach and teaching others how to write children’s books and how to  self-publish their manuscripts.

Sweetwater Union High School has been an integral part of my life for 34 years.  I am a graduate of Montgomery High School and was hired as a bilingual instructional assistant to the launching of the PLATO Learning Center program and was promoted to Computer Math Technician. At the same time, I continued my advanced studies to obtain a BA in Mathematics, Teacher’s Credential, MS in Multicultural Education, and finally my PPS credential in Counseling. I have loved and benefitted from both aspects of teaching and counseling, growing professionally and most of all having the opportunity of working with staff, students, families, and the community.

I love dogs and my passion is dancing!

I have served as a middle school counselor in the Sweetwater Union High School District for over 20 years. I enjoy working with this age group because it is a time of great growth, discovery and many transitions. Prior to becoming a middle school counselor, I worked in higher education at SDSU, UCSD, USC and Southwestern College.  I am a busy working mom of 3 children. One of my kids is a 7th grader at ELM (Go Tritons) and my other two kids are studying at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) I enjoy traveling, hiking, water sports and nature. 

This year I am working at two different schools, ELM and Southwest Middle School. In addition, I run a small college consulting business that supports families in their college admissions journey.

The best way to reach me is via email because my time is split between 2 campuses. I enjoy meeting in person so feel free to set up a face-to-face meeting time. At certain times of the school year (beginning/ end of the school year, registration time, and around progress reports) I get a high volume of calls and emails, so please feel free to send me a reminder if I don't respond to your email/ phone call within 2 school days.

I have served as an academic advisor/counselor for over 31+ years for various age groups- adults, young adults, high school and of course my very favorite- middle school!  I am happily married and a busy mom of a college and high school student.  I am my family’s biggest cheerleader and can be found at any of their various activities and events.  I love to explore (travel, food, read), hang out with friends, pilates, and start my days with early morning walks.

I have served as an academic advisor/school counselor at SDSU, UCSD, high and middle school counselor for 31 years. I have been in the Sweetwater Union High School District for the last 22 years. My hobbies are photography, going to the gym and running.  I served in the Army National Guard for 21 years
