Unit Overview: What are the rights and responsibilities of citizens?
In this unit, students will dive into the concept of citizenship and explore the qualities and behaviors of responsible leaders and team members. They will develop an understanding of the importance of effective communication, respect for others, and the role of rules and laws in promoting harmony and cooperation. Students will demonstrate the ability to assume both leadership and team member roles, showcasing adaptability and a willingness to contribute positively to a group. They will be able to describe the qualities of an effective team, including respectful disagreement, advocating for oneself and others, sharing responsibilities, and considering diverse perspectives. Students will also be introduced to the idea of voting, as well as the concepts of rights and responsibilities within a society.
