Sumiton Christian School, serving students from K2 through 12th grade, offers a Christ-centered, college-preparatory education focused on academic excellence and spiritual growth in Central Alabama.
Investing in a Sumiton Christian education means investing in your child’s future—both academically and eternally. Our wide array of programs, personalized learning environment, and commitment to Christian values set us apart from other schools in the region.
Families choose Sumiton Christian because of our dedication to nurturing the whole student—mind, body, and spirit. Here, education goes beyond the classroom to shape strong character, lasting faith, and a sense of purpose that equips students to thrive in life and leadership.
Sumiton Christian School is totally dependent upon tuition and fees for the operation of the school. All accounts must be current in order for students to participate in extra-curricular activities and take semester exams. Students will not receive report cards or be able to view academic records in the FACTS parent portal unless the account is current.
Saint James School is proud to participate in Alabama’s CHOOSE Act, offering eligible families up to $7,000 per student in refundable income tax credits through an Education Savings Account (ESA) to assist with tuition, fees, and other qualified educational expenses for K-12 students.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, eligibility is determined by:
Alabama Residency: The student must be a resident of Alabama.
Income Threshold: Household income must not exceed 300% of the federal poverty level.
Starting in 2027, the program will expand to include all families, regardless of income. Learn more about eligibility and application details at chooseact.alabama.gov.
Applications will open for the
2026-2027 school year on May 1, 2026
Sumiton Christian School partners with the FAST aid by Independent School Management, Inc. to help provide scholarships to eligible students. Scolraships are awarded to eligible, low-income students to pay for private school tuition. A student's eligibility is based on their current school zoning or the Scholarship Income guidelines. To start the application process or renew a scholarship for your family, please visit www.apply.ismfast.com. We have on average 10 students receive awards each year.
AOSF was established in 2013 and provides tax credited scholarships to low-income K-12 children across Alabama to attend the public or private school of their choice. Our mission is to empower families to choose the school that best fits their child’s unique educational needs. Scholarships are funded by the donation of corporate and individual Alabama income tax liability. AOSF leads the way statewide in providing over 1,500 children the opportunity to have a successful and productive future.
