For this project I decided to pick a clock and for the "unseen" theme I wanted to incorporate more than just the clock so I decided to make it look forgotten, abandoned and frozen in time by adding cracks and vines all over it. I think I did a pretty good job because this project pushed my boundaries because I have never drawn something like this and the concept of "the unseen" is very new to me.
Somethings I could have changed about the piece is starting with the composition, I feel like I could have left more space for the environment to form around the clock. I also feel like I could have pushed the values more in the wall behind the clock and made the vines and cracks more prominent. I also feel like I could have worked on the proportions of the clock in general, made it more accurate to the drawing by attempting more realism because that's not my usual style.
In this piece I decided to pick this prawn dish my grandma used to make. It's from a particular region in India that isn't explored that much with it's cuisine. Drawing food isn't my strongest point especially in graphite pencils alone so I'm quiet happy with how it turned out. I think I did a pretty good job capturing texture especially in part 1, 2 and 6.
Somethings I feel like I could change are in step 5, I've never drawn something like this, drawing absorption of oil was tough and I think I could have done it better by pushing the values and detailing it more although I'm unsure of how I would have gone about doing it.
In this project we had to draw a gummy bear only using color pencils, this was challenging because for the highlights I would use a white gel pen but we couldn't this time so it was trickier to get lighter values.
I do think I did a good job picking the colors but I think I should have pushed the values of the shadow more. The shadow could have been more pronounced too and the hands are off, the right is way bigger than the left and I didn't realize it while drawing it so I would change that too. Overall I think I did okay with this piece.
In this assignment, we had to use color pencils to draw the candies given to us. I never use color pencils in my work unless its for touch ups so this was a big change to swap only to color pencils.
I really enjoyed this project and I think I did pretty good with the wrappers on the candies but I do think I could have worked more on pushing the values on the white part of the lollipop. I also think that the smarties have a weird form so I would change that if I got the chance to.
In this piece we used water colors and several other components such as wax and alcohol to give the piece motion and life. I wanted to make this piece like another digital piece I have made recently so I referenced my piece for it. I really like the luminosity and the colors I chose for this piece, I really think these two components gave it the most life.
I do think I could have improved on the way I used the salt, alcohol and cotton balls because of how dark the environment is I didn't get a chance to show them off. I also think I should have enhanced the background more to make it look more appealing.
In this project I got the artist Claude Monet and the emotion I picked was relief and happiness. I wanted to incorporate the colors I usually pick but in Monet’s style to see what I could make of this and I really like the results. I like the colors and the textures I used, I think it gives life to the scene.
Somethings I don’t like are the fact that the woman gets lost in the painting and is hard to see unless pointed out so if I could change one thing, I would change the palette in a way to favor highlighting the woman.
Theme and construction method:
I started this project by sectioning the clay and molding a half sphere, then I shaped the bowl and carved the inside to make it less dense. Then I went about making the eggs and other components inside the bowl. Finally I assembled all the pieces together.

I think I did a pretty good job so far with the project because I don’t have that much experience with clay. I really like the way I made the toppings and the overall composition of the components of the piece. Some things I think I could have improved on are the shape of the bowl and the edamame.

Reflection
In this piece we had to use pieces from magazines to make a collage of a world. This was challenging because I personally like making my designs from scratch and not really plan ahead too much so this was a bit harder for me.
I really like the colors I chose for this piece and I think I got lucky with finding jellyfishes but somethings I don’t like is how busy and crowded it looks. I feel like I could have done a better job with the blue portion of the sky and the bridge. Overall I did enjoy the process of making this piece but it was a lot harder than the others.

Reflection:
In this assignment we were supposed to draw what we see when we close our eyes and look in a mirror. I started with a couple ideas and picked a few I liked the most and tried letting myself be creative with this piece because I like to draw things as they are and I wanted to experiment a bit.
I decided to draw someone up alone in the sky flying alone to show what I see when I look in the mirror. Overall I think I did a pretty good job with the frame of the mirror and the clouds, I really liked how they turned out but the anatomy and pose of the character bothers me a bit. If I could do it over I would try finding a more dynamic pose that didn’t feel as forced as this one does for the character.

In this piece we were supposed to finish the clay projects. I decided to use acrylic paints instead of glaze because I think that this would bring out the textures more and give it a more realistic look compared to glazing it. I really like the eggs and the bowl, I think I did a pretty good job with picking the colors for the piece and the overall composition of it.
Somethings I don’t like about the piece are the noodles, I think I could have made them thinner and that would have made it look more appealing because the thickness of the noodles isn’t what I’d like it to be. Overall I think I did a pretty good job. I improved a lot with clay compared to my project in art 1 because it looks finished and refined and there aren’t any holes or cracks in this piece.
Reflection
The poem is trying to show how to live life on your own terms but through the metaphor of steering a ship through the ocean. Instead of drawing a ship to show the metaphor I decided to draw people waiting for the ship to return and a lighthouse in the distance because I thought it would be a nice contrast.
I really like how the scenery near the lighthouse turned out but I feel like the characters are faded out so I’d like to make them more prominent and maybe change the texturing a bit in the grass to make it look more realistic. Overall I did enjoy making the piece and I think it turned out good
Reflection:
For this sketchbook assignment we had to draw the school courtyard but without gravity which I thought was a really interesting concept so I decided to pick a particular portion of the courtyard and draw that particularly. I decided to use pen and ink for this piece which was a bit challenging because I wanted to add more textures but there would be no differences in the values so I decided to keep it minimal.
I really like how the characters turned out but I think the building could use more work. The ground also feels a bit bland but I feel like if I did more the whole piece would be a bit too busy. Overall I like this piece.

Theme/concept
For this project I chose the theme “peace”. I wanted to express it by drawing a fantasy landscape, a soldier/knight returning home, but he’s alone. I didn’t want it to look sad because peace isn’t always bitter-sweet but I wanted it to have a mystery behind it by making it surreal.

For this project I chose the theme “peace” and I decided to make this piece digitally. I’ve wanted to make this fantasy landscape idea for a while. Originally I wanted it to be a fight scene but I thought about it and realized it would be interesting to try to add a proper theme to it, peace. I really liked the way I drew the character and the sky. I do think the mountains and village could use some work but I’m unsure how to change those two but if I could do it again I would change the sky a bit to compliment the mountains more. I also wish I was able to convey the theme of the piece a bit better but overall I’m happy with how the piece turned out.
What is it?
For this project I decided the product would be a candle. I chose this because I wanted it to be something I really like and would like to have around. It’s inspired by Diwali, the festival of light but I wanted it to be something you could have all year around. The name of the product “chamak” means to glow or sparkle and I picked it because I thought it would suit the theme of it.
Target group and why they would be interested in buying it:
The target demographic for my product is women ages 25+ because manufacturers of candle companies have shown survey results and almost 95% of their buyers are women.
Slogan:
“Another light in your life”

I really enjoyed the process of making a product during this project. I think I did pretty good with the packaging and coloring. I do wish I could have come up with a more unique candle design but overall I’m really happy with the way it looks.
