Rough Seas

I took this photo on a particularly cold day right before it started to rain in Fort Williams. I was out taking my senior photos and saw the way the waves were hitting the rocks and knew I had to get a shot, if not for photography class then at least for a screensaver. I grabbed the camera from my mom and ran down the steep path. Out of all my shots, this is the only one I really liked. It features only the rocks and water, no islands or trees or beach, just the turbulent waters hitting the jagged rocks. The contrast is probably my favorite part, along with the texture of the water. To me, the most profound thing is the notion that those same types of waves, while they don't really move the rocks, do shape them over the centuries.
