Silhouette Lighting

The subject of this photo is two bear cub figurines. I used my canvas-like pencil case for a ground and my laptop as the backdrop, with the Chicago Cubs logo on the screen. The light from the laptop provided a good light source for the silhouette aspect of the photo. I had been using these bears for a bunch of other shots in the collection and thought it would be funny to throw in a more synthetic joke shot, equating these cubs to the Chicago Cubs. When making this picture, silhouette lighting was mostly kept in mind, but it also has a sharp focus. In the future, I would mostly focus all my shots on a tiny environment to better suit the tiny figurines, as well as avoiding artificial lighting because it takes quite a bit to edit the ‘orangish’ tones out.
