Wire Sculpture

I’m calling this project, Thicc 757 because it’s based upon a Boeing 767 or as plane spotters call it, a Thicc 757. The subject is a sculpture based off a model of a Boeing 767-223. I chose to create this specific work because I love airplanes. For materials, I used 18 gauge wire. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: fishhook connections and bending wire. While creating this work, I paid close attention to detail by redoing incorrect parts. I wanted my artwork to look proportional and I did that by measuring the actual model. I like the way the wings look and I am proud of the structure. However, I struggled with creating the fuselage and getting one elevator to stay up. If I created another work like this I may do a different model. My work shows that I learned how to use wire to creates sculptures.
