Charcoal & Ink

I’m calling this project, CharBus because It is a charcoal drawing of an Airbus A320-232. The subject is a portrait based on an American Airlines Airbus A320-232. I chose to create this specific work because I love aviation. For materials, I used graphite for outlining then ink and charcoal. I used a variety of techniques and methods including drawing, painting, and shading. While creating this work, I paid close attention to the value by blending the charcoal. I wanted my artwork to look one of a kind and I did that by choosing a one of a kind photo. I like the way the project had value and I am proud of my use of different materials. However, I struggled with the proportion. If I created another work like this I may work on the proportion.

My work shows that I learned how to create a drawing rich with value using charcoal and ink.
