I’m calling this project, Value because the assignment was to create a Zentangle value strip. The subject is a abstract based off a assignment. I chose to create this specific work because i was assigned to. For materials, I used various pencils. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: drawing. I like the way my design came out.However, I struggled with nothing. If I created another work like this I may add more detail. My work shows that I learned how to add value to a drawing.

Artist Statement:

• I’m calling this project, The Leaf That Fell because it looks like a leaf that has fallen from a tree. The subject is an abstract based off nothing. I chose to create this specific work because I saw what looked like a fallen leaf. For materials, I used pencil, colored pencil, and marker. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: drawing. While creating this work, I paid close attention to the shape of my leaf by drawing slowly. To add interest to my composition, I used contrast by putting just the lines of the leaf. I like the way the negative space works and I am proud of it. If I created another work like this I may add more detail. My work shows that I learned how to use negative space.
