Clay Tile

I’m calling this project, Dreams because it shows how the dreams of winning the stanley cup were crushed for many teams. The subject is a abstract based off the NHL playoffs. I chose to create this specific work because I was inspired and I love hockey. For materials, I used Clay, Glaze and scratching tools. I used a variety of techniques and methods including: carving and outlining. While creating this work, I paid close attention to my design by carefully tracing it. I wanted my artwork to look unique and I did that by creating my own design from scratch. To add interest to my composition, I used contrast by deepening the whites. I like the way the Clay looks and I am proud of the effort I put into it. However, I struggled with the fine details. If I created another work like this I may spend more time with the details. My work shows that I learned how to use clay and make a scrifitto.
