For this project, I was inspired by my shoes. I have several pairs of Jordans and Nikes, which I display in my room and wear. For this project, I wanted to visually represent my shoe box for my "Nike SB" shoes.
I started by making a top and a bottom with wire, and then connected them - forming a large box/cube. I then made smaller details with wire. As I went, I kept adding more features to my box. For the nike swoosh on the top of the box I used a silver type of wire which was easier to bend - the color change also made it stand out more. For every wire connection, I used the fish hook connection method. You bend a hook on each end, and tighten it with needlenose pliers. To finish off my shoebox, I made my name by bending wire.
One way I struggled during this project was connecting the wire pieces. I overcame this by seeking help from Ms. Medsker, and became better at it. Another way I struggled was with accurately representing the box. I solved this by tracing the box on paper, and following the line when I bent the wire.  Overall, I enjoyed this challenge.
